Staff who enter SIC_1 are required to wear protective gear without exception. Naturally, patrons are not allowed on the floor at any time.
- Staff on SIC_3 should get to their floor using:
- the elevators in FLE, the Link and then SIC_2; or
- the exterior staircase.
- Staff may access the loading dock at any time (the ceiling is protected there) via the elevator to dock corridor, but protective gear must be worn. Advance notice is not necessary, but staff should be aware of their surroundings at all times, and not proceed if there is work going on in the corridor. Protective equipment will be issued to SIC_3 staff who access the dock on a regular basis.
- Deliveries to the dock can proceed as normal, but those delivery people who deliver internally to the building should enter the library via the link to make that delivery (or pick up the items).
- Access to the materials on SIC_1 will continue to use the same materials paging procedure used on SIC_0.
- Access to the corridor between the link and the elevator is only allowed for those wearing the protective gear.
- Staff should not use the SIC Loading Dock as an entrance or an exit, except in case of emergency. Do not enter the SIC_1 floor via the dock unless you are wearing the protective gear.
Remember, the main goal of these precautions is SAFETY! When in doubt, make the safest choice.
